Recently in The Southern Cross a letter to
the editor was published entitled “Quiet Time For The Eucharist”. The letter
writer explains the difficulty that individuals, such as the organist, who are
engaged in assisting during Mass in some way, have with finding a moment for
‘quiet time’ during Mass.

Pope Made History Today
Today was an important day in history and
it was not because of the phenomenon of the date and time being 12/12/12
12:12:12, which everyone has been raving about on Facebook and Twitter. See my post about it HERE.

Catholic Newspapers – Beware The Trojan Horses?
What exactly is the purpose of a ‘Catholic’
newspaper? Why should it be specifically
referred to as a ‘Catholic’ newspaper? Why
may it be sold inside of our churches when other newspapers are not permitted
to do so? Why should Catholics be
specifically encouraged by priests and others during Mass to buy the ‘Catholic’
newspaper?

Bourgeois: They Got Him - Really?
Roy Bourgeois |
I read with
amusement the title of a column by Tom Roberts, editor at large of the National
Catholic Reporter, entitled “Roy
Bourgeois: They finally got him”.
Now I ask you, does anyone today seriously believe that the Church
hierarchy sits around all day gleefully rubbing their hands and scheming about
ways in which they can bring down fellow clergy? That’s just bizarre!

We Need Courageous Catholic Press
Savita Halappanavar |
I wrote in mid
November 2012 about the tragic death of Savita Halappanavar. I made
the point that the pro-abortion groups were being completely unreasonable in
jumping to a conclusion that an abortion would have saved this woman’s
life. I stated that there was simply no evidence to
support this conclusion and it would therefore be wise for all parties to wait
for the outcome of the investigations into the matter.

Third Edition of the Roman Missal: One Year Later
I read with
interest and great pleasure the results of a survey that was conducted by the ‘Center
for Applied Research in the Apostolate’ (CARA) in September 2012 regarding
the new English Translation of the Missal.
