Human Behaviour Disguised

Recent statistics released by the United Nations reveals that approximately 2,5 million people are victims of human trafficking at any given point in time and that only about 1% of these people have any chance of ever being saved.

Conned By Politicians

Frank Abagnale - A Notorious Conmen
In the 60's he conned people, passing $2,5 million in bad cheques.
The movie "Catch Me If You Can" was based on his life.

The only exception I have to have an abortion is in that case of the life of the mother.  I struggled with it myself for a long time, but I came to realise that life is that gift from God and I think even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape that it is something God intended to happen.”  -  Richard Mourdock

Respect Award - An Insincere Award

The Tablet has again highlighted why it should be listed as one of the newspapers that Catholics should avoid.  A Blog by Abigail Frymann, entitled “Cardinal Woelki's Refusal Of A Pro-Gay Award Sends Out Sad Message”, demonstrates why.

Morality Of US Drone Strikes

The USA continues to insist that the drone strikes that it carries out in Pakistan are necessary and effective in combatting militant operations.  Is this true and should we remain silent in the face of the on going use of the drones by the USA?

Profit Or Concern For Women?

If there is one thing I have learned about corporates it is that corporates never make any decisions or spend any money unless it is going to have a positive effect on their bottom line.  Corporates are driven entirely by the profits that they will end up declaring in their financial statements.

Price Of A Career In Politics

I suffered from yet another bout of insomnia last night.  This is just one of the side effects of my lung disease and the medication I take for it.  The result of this episode of insomnia was that at about 3 am this morning, South African Standard Time, I was still wide-awake and bushy tailed.

Vatican II Trivia

Cardinal Francis Arinze
Interesting bit of trivia.  I just learned that there are still 69 Second Vatican Council Fathers alive today.  The three oldest of these Council Fathers are apparently 102 years old.

Below is the full text of the homily given by Pope Benedict XVI during the Holy Mass for the opening of the XIII Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops on the New Evangelisation.

Any Ordinary Catholics Out There?

Bishops in St Peter's for Vatican II

I am sure that I cannot be the only one who occasionally despairs at the seemingly endless attempts, by so many liberal and progressive Catholics, to change the teaching and Traditions of the Church to something that they feel more comfortable with.  This is often, it seems, done under the guise of the so-called “spirit of Vatican II”.

Church Teaching On Homosexuality

Writing about homosexuality is always difficult.  It is a subject that stirs up some pretty raw emotions in many people.  This is of course not helped by those activists who have chosen to use homosexuality as part of their agenda for the achievement of a far bigger objective; destroying the Church.  So they work hard at creating hype around the subject.

Gay Suicide And Church Homosexual Teaching

By promoting … the Church teaching on homosexuality, you become, in my opinion, an active agent of a vindictive maintenance of a great social evil that is surely pro “culture-of-death”, since it is seemingly linked to the high suicide rate among gay teens.[1]
