Is it possible to agree with a secularist
point of view, which clearly contradicts Church teaching, while still
maintaining ones support for the teaching of the Church? This is the question I have been pondering
this week. The reason for this
consideration was because of a statement, which was made by Gunther
Simmermacher, the editor of The Southern Cross, in last week’s editorial.

An Invaluable And Wise Gift
A conversation on twitter yesterday touched
on the subject of Catholics reading and studying their faith. The consensus was that Catholics in South
Africa are notoriously very bad at reading about their faith. We of course could not comment on Catholics
in the rest of the world because we don’t know, though its possible that this
trend may be a worldwide trend.

World Is Going Mad
Gay Marriage Protest (Washington Post) |

to the streets of France to show their objection to the legalisation of gay

Bryce Sibley: The Rohr Phenomenon
Fr. Bryce Sibley |
After a break over the Christmas season, I
am back. I trust everyone had a happy
and blessed Christmas and New Year. I
started this morning by looking, with trepidation I might add, at the editorial
for this week’s edition of The Southern Cross.
I have to admit that I was actually pleasantly surprised at the content
of the editorial. It is entitled “On Men and Women”.
