Here is just another example of what Pope Benedict XVI refers to as the Dictatorship of Relativism.
In his interview of United States Presidential candidate, Rick Santorum, Piers Morgan, a supposedly intelligent CNN Talk Show host, states that he is a Catholic. Sadly he then goes on to say, regarding the issue of homosexuality, that we now live in modern world where the Church's views on homosexuality is effectively outdated. Sorry Piers but I think most Catholics would prefer it if you didn't call yourself a Catholic and then, in the same breath, make a statement that opposes the true teaching of the Church.
Thankfully Rick Santorum had the presence of mind to rightly point out to Piers Morgan that there are certain "truth's" that are eternal. They do not change with different era's of time.
It is also interesting to note, earlier in the same interview, that Piers Morgan attempts to brand those with a view against homosexuality as being bigoted. (A bit like the feminists who accuse those who do not agree with the ordination of woman as misogynists!) However, once again Rick Santorum deals quite effectively with this ridiculous accusation by Piers Morgan. The headline for this YouTube video should have been "Piers Morgan Stumped by Presidential Candidate!"
We certainly need more politicians to begin standing up for their Catholic beliefs.
