Earlier today Fr. Federico Lombardi
announced that the College of Cardinals would vote today as to when the Conclave
would begin. Fr. Lombardi said in a
statement that he anticipated that the Conclave would begin next week, either on
Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, but not before then.
Reuters has now reported, via Twitter, that
the Conclave will begin on Tuesday the 12th of March 2013.
Vatican
Insider reports that the “Mass ‘Pro
Eligendo Pontefice’ will be celebrated in St. Peter's Basilica in the morning
and in the afternoon the cardinals will begin the Conclave.”
The newspaper has some interesting facts
about the 115 Cardinals who will enter the Conclave to elect the 266th
Pope here.
Now we begin to pray even more earnestly than we have prayed before.
