Unacceptable

All 181 Catholic Bishops Who Lead Dioceses In US
Have Spoken Out Against The HHS Mandate

More than 500 leaders in the US have signed a statement rejecting the Obama HHS mandate as UNACCEPTABLE. The entire statement can be read here . . .

Ugh… Is It Because Of Contraception?

I think that anyone who follows my Blog will know that I have frequently expressed a great deal of frustration at the fact that our only South African Catholic newspaper, The Southern Cross, has repeatedly failed to provide any coverage regarding the HHS Mandate in the US. This despite the fact that I have repeatedly made an issue about the newspapers silence on this important subject and that I also appealed to the editor to publish an article on the matter.

Contraception & Humanae Vitae: Document of the Infallible Magisterium (UPDATED)

They are grateful to the Roman Pontiff, who so courageously is fulfilling his arduous mission for their spiritual welfare. Throughout the world, contradictory voices may resound. The faithful do not allow themselves to be deceived. They know the Shepherd's voice and they follow it, for he alone has the words of eternal life and guides them to the fullness of the Christian life and to the joy of heaven.[i]

The Dignity Of All People

I am not quite sure what to make of this current situation in Afghanistan regarding the burning of the Quran. It seems such a confusing mess and both sides actions seem so irrational and completely senseless.

Training Racists

Aside from the Aborigines in Australia, the African black is the most underdeveloped, barbaric member of the human race on Earth… Who is my enemy in South Africa? Who murders, robs and rapes? Who are these creatures? The blacks!

Its Not About Contraception

I am about to do, what I would have laughed at hysterically just 30 minutes ago, if anyone had suggested I do it. I am going to recommend an article, by a particular writer, in a particular newspaper. Normally I would steer anyone who asked well away from both her and this newspaper. However, this time she gets it and should be read.

Assault May Have Just Begun

Yesterday I again wrote, in an email to someone, that I believed the HHS mandate had far greater implications than we may have even begun to consider. I have always been of the opinion that this piece of legislation in the US is just a first step in a bigger scheme to restrict religious freedom.

Pope Benedict XVI Address at Consistory

Here is the full English text of Pope Benedict XVI’s address, at the Ordinary Public Consistory for the creation of new cardinals, on the 18th of February 2012.

Wife - The Radiant Sun Of The Family

From today's second reading at Matins here is this beautiful address, by Pope Pius XII, to married couples. The wealth of readings like this is another example of why it is that the laity should be exposed to the Divine Office. Here is the reading:

Still The Southern Cross Disappoints - Part II

Yesterday I blogged about the fact that I believed the Southern Cross had again failed its readers, because of its repeated failure to publish anything about the issues surrounding the Obama Healthcare Bill in the USA and the challenges that Catholics are facing. My post was titled “Still Southern Cross Disappoints”.

Still Southern Cross Disappoints

Last week I raised the fact that The Southern Cross, the only Catholic newspaper for South Africans, has repeatedly failed to report on the Obama Healthcare Bill, which is threatening religious freedom in the USA. My post was titled, “Is Our Catholic Newspaper Meeting Expectations”.

Jesuit Progressivism

Pope Benedict XVI and Fr. Adolfo Nicolas

If you follow my Blog, you will have noticed a number of posts by me about the Jesuits. It is my opinion that many of the Jesuits seem to have lost their way and that their actions/views are causing more damage to the Church, than those secular organisations who attack the Church from outside.

Sex Abuse Lawsuit Against Pope Withdrawn

Attorney Jeffrey Anderson, who has made multiple efforts
to lodge a sex-abuse lawsuit against the Vatican

I am sure all of us remember the 22nd of April 2010, when an attorney, Jeffrey Anderson, filed a lawsuit in Wisconsin, wherein he named Pope Benedict XVI, Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone and Cardinal Angelo Sodano as the co-defendants in the sex abuse case. The plaintiff’s attorneys announced, when filing their lawsuit, that they had evidence to show that there had been a worldwide conspiracy, related to sexual abuse, which had been directed by the Holy See.

Paedophile Investigation Report Shelved

The Vatican shelved an investigation into allegations that a priest sexually abused a teenage girl in the sacristy at the parish it has emerged.

Sorry, Its Not Good Enough Mr Obama

Yesterday Obama issued a statement, regarding the controversial healthcare bill that would force the provision of contraception, in which he said that he was going to amend the legislation. See my post “Have Catholics Beat The Obama Healthcare Bill”.

Have Catholics Beat The Obama Healthcare Bill?

There is apparently some good news circulating the news networks that Obama may be due to buckle and make changes to the healthcare bill. That's the same healthcare bill which currently will force employers to provide contraception regardless of their religious beliefs.

Understanding Church Teaching On Contraception

Why does the Catholic Church oppose contraception? Many Catholics ask this question. Sadly, many Catholics also rely solely on the answers that they receive from those whom they ask. The sad truth today is that, because of how much has been written and spoken on the subject, by so many people, with so many varied views and opinions, with such a variety of interpretations of the official Church teaching, it may seem to be difficult, if not impossible, for the ordinary man on the street, to get to the heart of the true teaching of the Church on this matter. However, this is in fact not so.

With Deep Sadness

Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò
Here is a copy of one of the letters that was addressed to Pope Benedict XVI, on the 7th of July 2011, by  Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò. This is one of the letters, leaked to the press, which is apparently at the heart of the allegations of corruption in the Vatican. When you have read this, read my post titled, “Who Really Leaked The Letter Of Vatican Corruption?

Who Really Leaked The Letter Of Vatican Corruption?

Here is an interesting take on the private letters, from Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò to Pope Benedict XVI, that were leaked to the press and which have led to reports of alleged corruption in the Vatican. It is titled “That 33% chance …”.

Jesuit University Places Tenure Ahead Of Souls

Dr. Daniel Maguire

Have the Jesuits somehow fallen prey to Satan and are they being used by Satan to destroy the Church from within? This may seem like a huge generalisation but the number of incidents seems to support this theory. I have on two previous occasions written about my concerns that, so often, the source of much of the dissidence within the Church comes from Theologians and Priests who are from Jesuit Universities. I wrote about this is in two of my previous post’s, one titled Catholic Q Mass – Jesuit Folly and, the other, “Jesuit University: Dissent, Sacrilege, Support for Same-Sex Marriage”.

Abortion By Vending Machine

When I read the headline, “Abortion vending machine shows utter contempt for young women & unborn children”, I was convinced that this was certain to be just another sick proposal by some or other crazy organisation. Horror of horrors when I discovered that it is not a proposal. It is real and the vending machine has already been installed and is operational in Shippensburg University, Pennsylvania, USA.

Is Our Catholic Newspaper Meeting Expectations

The matter of the Obama Healthcare reform bill has attracted, and for very good reason too, a great deal of attention from almost every single Catholic publication and blog that I have read in the last few weeks. The bill has however not only drawn the attention of Catholic publications. So serious is the matter that it has also attracted the attention of many secular publications and is, without any doubt, currently an important news topic for Catholics, not only those in the USA.

Priests, The Parish Is Not Your Private Kingdom

Bishop Edward Braxton

It is always good to see a bishop taking a strong line with dissident priests in the Church. Today I read of a priest, Fr. William Rowe, in Illinois, USA, who resigned, after his bishop, Bishop Edward Braxton, insisted that Fr. Rowe had to keep to the exact wording of the new English translation of the Roman Missal. In response to this resignation, Bishop Braxton sent Fr. Rowe a letter accepting his resignation, and good riddance too, if you ask me.

Selling Out The Church

Below is a cartoon, from the Blog of Thomas Peters. It really makes the point, about those who have shown support for the Obama Healthcare Reform Bill, better than words could ever do.

American Pope

I am a great fan of the Archbishop of the Diocese of New York, Archbishop Timothy Dolan. In January this year, the Pope announced that Archbishop Dolan is to be made a cardinal during the Consistory on 18 February 2012. I was very pleased to hear this news. Lately, however, I find myself having to resist a very strong urge to resent this decision to make Archbishop Dolan a cardinal.

Pope Performs Exorcism

This morning, over my third cup of coffee, I came across this report, in the Catholic Herald, about the alleged exorcism performed by Pope Benedict XVI in St Peter’s Square. According to Fr. Gabriele Amorth, “when the Pope blessed the men, they ‘flew three metres backwards’ and ‘howled no longer’.[1]

Gay Catholic Mass

Now I have seen it all. Gay Mass with the prayers of the faithful by a man dressed in a dress, complete with wig. Is it just me who feels this way or does anyone else agree that this is totally unacceptable? It makes a mockery of Mass!

Enneagram - Another Tool Deceiving Catholics

The Enneagram

Today I came across something that was completely new to me, though I soon discovered that this is only because I lead a “sheltered” life and am often oblivious of what is going on around me. (I really need to get out more. Maybe not!) What I came across was the Enneagram, which apparently is being used in many Catholic Retreat Centres, though never ever on any retreat that I attended and my first retreat was in 1983, while I was still at school.
